Work-Related Health

Employee health and productivity is paramount to the successful running of your business. Not only does it make good business sense, having a health monitoring strategy is also a legal obligation to businesses who have operations or substances which could affect the health of their workers.

Did you know that an estimated 600-900 Kiwi workers die from work-related illnesses each year? Consequently, Section 36 (3) (g) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 requires PCBUs (businesses) to monitor their workers health to ensure they are not being harmed whilst at work. If you are unsure of what health monitoring your workplace may require our occupational health and safety experts can assist you to identify your specific needs through a health risk assessment

Services can be provided on an as required basis or, to get the most value, services can be provided on a regular basis: weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Having a nurse at your premises on a regular basis, at a frequency you determine, can help spread the cost of occupational health services throughout the year. Furthermore, it offers a more convenient and flexible service for the provision of programmes such as health promotion activities, staff training, injury management, occupational health and exposure monitoring, co-ordination of medicals at your client’s sites, co-ordination of your occupational hygiene services, influenza/hepatitis vaccinations and the maintenance of first aid kits. Should you wish, our experienced occupational health practitioners can assist your health and safety team with other tasks such as, but not limited to, incident investigations, contractor pre-qualification and policy and procedure reviews.

All services are also available on your offshore facilities.

Testimonials

"Working for Health was engaged by B.E.C.A. consultants on the DC6 site at Fonterra Whareroa in Hawera, to provide a site occupational health nurse for the project. The nurse visited the site twice a month, engaging our work crew in a number of health issues. Our work crew was made up of mainly middle aged men, most were smokers. The nurse was very successful, having 3 of the 11 smokers give up smoking and a further 2 have cut back. The professionalism of the nurse throughout the project has been outstanding and I would not hesitate in recommending Working for Health to any company for health service."
